Colombia's 01 8000 lines are free for callers inside Colombia, and from the US most of them cannot be dialed at all. Banks and agencies also publish a regular Bogota number, and Bancolombia even a US one. Those numbers are below, each checked on the organization's own website. A Colombian 01 8000 number is free for the caller because the organization pays for the call, and it pays only for calls that start inside Colombia. The 01 in front is a domestic access code, not part of a number you can dial internationally, so putting +57 in front of it usually fails. Landlines changed in 2021: every one now has 10 digits, starting with 60 and the old area digit, so Bogota is 601, Medellin 604 and Cali 602. A number still printed as (1) 234 5678 is 601 234 5678 today (Telephone numbers in Colombia). The checker above converts the old form for you.
What works from the US is a regular line: the Bogota (601) number most organizations list next to their 01 8000 line, a mobile line, or a US number where the organization has one for Colombians abroad. Look for desde el exterior or colombianos en el exterior on the contact page.
Each number was read on an official page, the organization's own or its government's, linked in the last column, on October 28, 2026. Where an organization lists no line for callers abroad, its regular number in Colombia is given: it takes calls from the US. For a bank card, the number on the back of your card is the one to trust.

Colombia keeps the same clock all year (no daylight saving), so from November to March Bogota is on New York time, and from March to November it is one hour behind New York, on Chicago time. Los Angeles is two or three hours behind Bogota. The hours in the table are Colombia time.
Take the number from the organization's own website or the back of your card, never from an ad, a social media comment or a search snippet: fake bank numbers are a common fraud.
Have your document number (cédula), your account or card number and any case number in front of you before you dial.
Expect the menu in Spanish. Some lines ask for a channel password or key before they connect you to someone.
Your call reaches them from a US number, not the phone on your account, so expect them to confirm who you are in another way.
Use earbuds or a headset and a steady Wi-Fi connection if you call from a laptop: waits on hold can be long.
This service is not for emergency calls. For an emergency in Colombia, the person there should dial the local emergency number from a local phone.

From a US phone dial 011 57 601 and the 7-digit number, for example 011 57 601 234 5678. From a mobile you can also dial +57 601 and the 7 digits.
Colombia gave every landline 10 digits in 2021 by putting 60 in front of the old area digit, and the old dialing stopped working in 2022. A number written (1) 234 5678 is now 601 234 5678, and from the US +57 601 234 5678.
Not its 01 8000 line: WhatsApp calls only reach other WhatsApp users. Use the bank's regular number from the table or from its website, which any service that calls phone numbers can reach.
